Canon EOS 5D Mark II video with Takumar Macro 1:4 100mm lens Test 2: CLOSE UP MOVEMENT Video Clips. Duration : 1.85 Mins.
One reason I bought the 5Dii is that it can use many of my old screw mount (m42) Pentax Takumar lenses for still photography. I have been having a look at their video capabilities too. This test is of a Takumar Super Multi-Coated Macro 1:4 100mm lens which is a favourite of mine. On another video I illustrate noise issues during use of the lens. In this video I wanted to see how the camera and lens performed with a moving subject close up. I think it does very well, though I have some work to do learning how to focus through the screen, and my progressive-lens glasses will likely have to be replaced or augmented with a hood of some kind. I don't know the model of adaptor, its a very cheap one and the lens is a tiny bit loose on it. I have tried other adaptors that fit well. I have not tried one with a chip to indicate focus, but will be getting one to see if that helps with focusing (though what I have seen of it with a canon lens, I am not optimistic). Camera settings: Manual mode, 1/60th sec, F-4? (did not take note, sorry), ISO 160, white balance AWB, sharpness 0, contrast 0, saturation -2, colour tone 0, NTSC, 30fps
